Itinerary

As you fly into Bhutan, enjoy breathtaking aerial views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Bhutan’s revered peaks—Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. Upon landing at Paro International Airport, our representative will greet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to settle in and acclimate to the altitude.

Overnight in Paro.

Take a scenic hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliffside. This spiritual pilgrimage warms up your legs for the trek ahead and offers unforgettable views. After lunch, descend and explore the nearby Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.

Overnight in Paro.

Drive to Shana and begin your trek through dense rhododendron and oak forests along the Paro Chhu. Today’s hike offers a gradual ascent into the Jigme Dorji National Park.

Trek: 6–7 hrs
Overnight: Camp at Thangthangkha

Climb above the tree line as the valley opens to alpine meadows and yak herder settlements. Spectacular views of snow-covered peaks, including Jomolhari, come into view as you reach the base camp.

Trek: 5–6 hrs
Overnight: Camp at Jangothang

Rest and explore the surroundings to acclimatize. Options include a short hike to Tshophu lakes or a climb up nearby ridges for panoramic views of Jomolhari, Jichu Drake, and Tserim Gang.

Overnight: Camp at Jangothang

Retrace your steps through yak pastures and forested valleys, descending slowly toward lower altitudes.

Trek: 6 hrs
Overnight: Camp at Thangthangkha

Hike back through lush forests and return to the trailhead at Shana. Meet your vehicle and drive back to Paro.

Trek: 5–6 hrs
Overnight: Paro

Take a leisurely drive to Bhutan’s capital. Visit Memorial Chorten, the majestic Buddha Dordenma, and the bustling Craft Bazaar. Enjoy a free evening to explore cafes or handicraft shops.

Overnight: Thimphu

Drive over scenic Dochula Pass, adorned with 108 chortens and Himalayan views (weather permitting). Descend to the subtropical valley of Punakha and visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, set at the confluence of two rivers.

Overnight: Punakha

Walk through rice paddies to visit Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple dedicated to Drukpa Kunley. Later, enjoy a short nature hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for views over the Punakha Valley.

Overnight: Punakha

Return to Thimphu, stopping for scenic views and optional visits to local villages or roadside temples along the way. Spend your afternoon visiting the Royal Textile Academy or the Folk Heritage Museum.

Overnight: Thimphu

Drive back to Paro and enjoy a relaxed day. Visit Drukgyal Dzong, recently reconstructed, and take a stroll through Paro town for any last-minute shopping.

Overnight: Paro

A buffer day for rest or optional local excursions such as Dzongdrakha Monastery or a Bhutanese hot stone bath. A perfect way to unwind after your trek.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Bhutan as you’re transferred by our representative to Paro International Airport, carrying with you memories of a land steeped in history, spirituality, and natural beauty.
